NJCPO NEWS 2025

 June 2025...  the end of last month, NJCPO conducted another warrant work week.  Officers made calls, sent letters, worked with local LE agencies and made field visits.  In all, 19 warrants were served and/or resolved.  A big success!

 May 2025...  this month, NJCPO officers were certified to carry Tasers.  This gives our officers another important force option to better protect themselves and our citizens.  A special thank you goes to  LPD, HCSO and FSPD for making this possible!

 May 2025...  NJCPO officers attended a terrorism training forum hosted by ex CIA analysis Sarah Adams and the real "Boon" from 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

 May 2025...  NJCPO just added another vehicle to its fleet.  A very special thank you to Chief Edmisten of the LPD and the City of Lavonia!  Check out LPD HERE

 May 2025...  NJCPO held its annual firearm qualifications this month.  Officers had to shoot a passing score with each firearm they carry.  The Top Gun award goes to Ofc. Stewart!

 May 2025...  Oglethorpe NJCPO officers just arrested a probationer for tampering with a drug screen.   We will know!  Tampering = JAIL TIME!

 April 2025...  NJCPO officers assisted FSPD with a car show and "Elvis" concert last weekend.  The officers got to provide security for the King himself!

 April 2025...  NJCPO conducted an Advanced Pistol Tactics class this month.  Officers practiced shooting while moving, engaging multiple targets and shooting from a seated position.

 April 2025...  A big congratulations goes to Ofc. Roberts, left, for graduating from the 9-week Basic Probation Officer Academy.  Great job!

 March 2025...  NJCPO officers assisted Lavonia PD last week with a safety checkpoint and a road race. Strong partnerships benefit our communities! 

 March 2025...  Madison NJCPO officers recently made a fentanyl arrest of a female on probation.  Fentanyl is deadly and for Americans age 18-45, it is the leading cause of death!

 March 2025...  Getting more involved in our communities, NJCPO officers assisted Lavonia PD with a boat show over the weekend.  Great community event!

 March 2025...  NJCPO and Franklin Springs PD continued their partnership by hosting Search & Seizure training.  A special thank you to Inv. Cobb and ADA Patterson of the District Attorney's Office!

 February 2025...  One of NJCPO's goals in 2025 is to get more involved in our communities.  Last week several of our officers assisted Lavonia PD with a safety checkpoint.

 January 2025, Our officers found meth and drug paraphernalia on a probationer recently.  Meth is illegal, harmful and now  frequently mixed with deadly fentanyl.  Don't do it! 

 January 2025...  NJCPO and Franklin Springs PD continued their great partnership by hosting the annual Governor's Initiative Training.  The all-day event was attended by 12 different LE agencies!

 January 2025, Found on a probationer during a search.  For your safety, it's not a good idea to bring your pistol-shaped lighter into a probation office.  We will always err on the side of the public's and officer safety!

 December 2024... NJCPO wishes you and your family a wonderful holiday season.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

 November 2024... NJCPO's all new Standard Operating Guidelines manual went live!  This year-long project was one of the Department's goals for 2024 and every staff member contributed.

 November 2024... Drugs found on a probationer during a recent report-in.  Remember... Marijuana is illegal in the state of Georgia and a violation of probation regardless of where you live!

 October 2024... NJCPO just launched its patrol rifle program.  Officers attended rigorous training then had to qualify with their rifle.  The officers who successfully passed the course are now allowed to carry and deploy their patrol rifle in specific high-risk situations.

 October 2024... NJCPO and Franklin Springs PD recently hosted Emergency Vehicle Operations Training.  The driving simulator placed the students in real life LE emergency situations.  The training was attended by seven different agencies.

 October 2024... One of NJCPO's finest was just promoted to Sergeant and will be the supervisor for our Hart County office.  Congratulations to Sgt. Hughes!

September 2024...  NJCPO and Franklin Springs PD continued their training partnership by hosing another important class.  In this class the students learned tips on bettering their health and financial wellness as well as discussed the sensitive topic of LE suicides.

August 2024...  NJCPO and Franklin Springs PD hosted an Active Shooter training class.  The students reviewed search techniques then practiced "live fire" scenarios.  A thank you to Emmanuel University!

 July 2024... Beware of phone scams!!!  Know that we will NEVER:

- Call you to post a "bond" on a warrant.

- Hold you "hostage" on the phone.

- Tell you to use "crypto type" currency.

If you have any doubts of whom you are talking to, HANG UP and call local LE!

 June 2024... One of NJCPO's finest was recognized in a recent staff meeting for his promotion to Sergeant.  Congratulations to Sgt. Brown, well deserved!

 May 2024... Recently a probationer obstructed three NJCPO officers by resisting arrest.  His attempts failed!  He turned a minor probation violation into significant jail time.  Always comply with an officer's commands.

 April 2024...  A probationer recently tried to get his "whizzinator" past one of our officers...  He got 180 days in jail for his efforts.  Don't tamper with a drug test!

 April 2024...  NJCPO officers trained and qualified with their new issued handguns.  A special thank you to Franklin Co BOC and Section 8 Armament for making the new guns possible! 

 March 2024...  A big congratulations to Ofc. Stewart, middle, for graduating from the 12-week Basic Peace Officer Academy.  Great job sir!

 March 2024...  NJCPO employees took the last load of donated children's clothes and school supplies for this school year.  This is a great ongoing program to allow probationers to convert their Community Service Work to meet local needs. 

January & March 2024...  NJCPO partnered with Franklin Springs PD to host two training events attended by six LE agencies and over 70 officers.

February 2024...  NJCPO recently selected the Shadow Systems MR920 as its' issued handgun.  The new, state of the art handguns are currently being built!

January 2024...  Tip for probationers; Don't try to tamper with a drug test.  We will know and you will go to jail!
